Enz does the fuel tank have to be re-condishioned/replaced on the 550?? I know on the F40 the fuel tank must be replaced every 10 years.

Hi Adam, no...just needs the 3 rubber seals replacing...rubber they used originally is a little too hard, so when the tank expands/contracts the seals do not seal properly,
parts are about £7, and 3 to 4 hours to do the job.

Exactly one year ago today, I collected Florence on the back of a flat-bed...
She and I have done just under 4900 (mainly european touring) miles since returning from the body-shop,
and has performed fantastically.
She was delivered to Grimaldi engineering this morning to have the final couple of things sorted,
new diff mounts and petrol tank seals...
She is also going to be a little more 'tuneful' shall we say, when she get back,
courtesy of some Larini magic :D

Hi Enzo, it's been a while!

I'm almost done with my MBA (graduate in December) and hope to be back in the UK (should I find a job back in London).

My car's been in the shop all summer (new clutch set, fixed leaky steering rack, and sorting out some suspension error light issues...new rear shocks too)...painful to the pocket, but will be good to have her running again.

Out of curiosity, why did you go for an H-pipe vs. an X-pipe for Florence? I replaced my US-spec car's OEM X-pipe with a Larini H-pipe, and it toned things down (I had de-catted the car too). It is more civilized, but there are definitely moments during wide-open-throttle that I miss the beastly roar and the back pressure pops! (maybe I am a hooligan!?!?!)

Hope all is well!

Hi JP, has been a very long while, hope you are well...good luck with the MBA and job hunting, hope to see you soon in the UK :D

WRT the centre section...
I currently have Tubi back boxes and everything else is stock,
I asked David what the differences are between the 'sport' (H) and club sport (X) sections and which was louder...
he advised that the H is quieter as it has 2 bomb silencers and that the H is a better 'fit' if I were to go with sport cats and back boxes at a later stage...
I don't really want Florence to be toooooo loud, that is Emma's job :D

take care, Regards, Enzo.

Such a treat to see Florence for the first time over the past couple of days Enzo. Particularly enjoyed seeing her on the track, where she proved more than capable. Hope to hear the sonic improvements before too long.

Quite a symbolic day for me...
have been waiting a while for my detailer to give Florence a thorough clean,
but he is not mobile at the moment (engine transplant!).
So I decided to add the final touches which are the stickers, and get her detailed later...
For me, this marks the end of the restoration, just routine maintenance now :D

Here are the stickers I added today

Oil Level Check

GlycoShell and High Voltage
HighVolt_AntiFreezeStickers.JPG

Three Engine bay stickers

Tyre Plate

Will add one final picture here when she is gleaming, just to close the thread...
with all further updates being on my website

http://enzocars.com/550/

I am so thrilled I was able to play a part in making sure she stayed on the road,
she is an absolute delight to drive, :D :D :D

Regards,

Enzo.
