Le Mans 2011 june the 11th/12th

Just to kick this one off for 2011 , seems we have a good contingent already , intergrated with Peter (safranes) stag do lucky bugger is tying the knot at long last with that lovely Sophie of his




Staying at my mates Place , La Butte in Mouliherne , a lovely 5/6 bedroom newly furbished house set in 14 acres with a large lake stocked with fish , so if you are fisherman an added bonus and a chance to have some fun


I'll get Safrane to take control of this thread and if your interested in staying coming along please register your interest , even when the house is full for those that dont mind a bit of camping , but having meals within the house come and rig your tent free of charge and just contribute a little for food

Last year we went several times and i think everyone would agree what a great commardery spirit there was , even the wives that were originally apprehensive ( and we all know that one ) were soon put at ease and everyone got on marvellously

I missed Le Mans for the first time in years last year so potentially interested in this.

Ill be there, but up the road. We have a pool so feel free to drop in and use it. Its in a town called Pontvillan and its half way between Loz's house and the Arnage on your route into Le Mans.

Yep got the mail

Not sure as yet , was thinking myself of getting down a good few days before and doing a spot of intensive relaxing /fishing , tho when i was talking to my mate today, he said he would only allow us to fish using bread for one day , hehhe its too easy , but hey im game for using a worm or two ( or what ever it is you fisherman use nowdays )

Anyway place is booked for that time and its ours to do what we want with as usual , and we have a new decent barbeque by all accounts


Hopefully Peter will be along soon totake control of lists etc

Lovely job! Just booked my ferry for Thursday night, arrive Caen at 06:45 Friday morning, a little bit more civilised than last year's effort! Will then head back to Caen for the 16:30 (or thereabouts) sailing on Monday.

Have also booked myself into the Dunlop Grandstand, I urge anyone else interested to get this done ASAP, they're sold out on many sites. It's an extra 80-100 Euros for a seat but makes the race and the event so much better, amazing atmosphete and there is little to beat those 50 cars doing their rolling start! I have also booked Parking Blanc, allocated and numbered spaces - and I hope we get a better run at it than last year. Loz and Peter, I have sent you the links.

Sorry to hear you arent with us this year Matt, no doubt we'll all meet up in Arnage on Friday!!

As an add-on - as this is a stag do as well, is it a 'gentlemen only' event? I'm bringing a chap anyway as Sarah has NO interest!

I am up for going down early and doing Le Man's and a bit of relaxing & fishing leading up to the race itself.

I see Lewis's note and I would like to confirm pretty soon too, ferry, tickets, parking and a Grandstand seat whoopee........push the boat out!!

Firstly, got your text mess on mobile,

I am very interested in going down early to catch some of the build up etc. When would you and others be looking to go?

I may also be bringing a couple of mates (fishing & car mad!), so will look to be camping at the house.(fingers crossed it does not rain like last year when at the classic)
