No, IIRC that was with the standard centre box on. That was a good run out over to Chatsworth. It was wet, a bit greasy and a challenge keeping up with the faster cars but managed to fly the lag with gusto!

Grief, I do feel for the guy. One of those cr@ppy jobs that's just loads of labour.

At least Stu doesn't charge £100 plus main dealer labour prices....Think he is £65 a hour.....Still and expensive job though.

Felice did mine for £500. I think he did Omar's as well. Matrix is the same as the Alfa 166 / Lancia Kappa (or Delta perhaps). I paid £54 IIRC including next day :)

Well somethings not right there then.

20hours x £65 = £1300. Even if labour was cheap at £50, it would still be £1k.

Is all that work really necessary to replace the heater matrix? dash top, dash proper, centre console & NIT, steering wheel, all carpets...!

Yeah, I didn't say he made a profit :) Felice charges (IIRC) £60 and hour, but clearly it depends on how familiar you are with the job.

Does it all need to be done? AFAIK, yes. I'm surprised that this is causing such surprise. I thought it was a well known issue, given the weaknesses of those matrices. There's a very good PDF from the forum over the way that gives a step by step. It's not *hard* (apparently) just a lot to do.

One word. Ouch!

Make sure your footwell is dry :)

Actually I did notice someone with some condensation last night. Cleared fast, but I did wonder at the time. Blue GS IIRC, parked a couple down from Chris Basset's Spider.
