Well what a start to the day, I'm just 15 mins from the track and was hoping to be there early...got to the car and found the battery dead! I had left the interior lights on for a week or two. dohhhh. As the car was parked back side in I could only open the boot just enough to open the battery hatch and using a 5m length of twin and earth, connected to a set of jump leads I connected it up to my trusty 21 year old golf after what must have been a hour! Finaly ready to go.

Paul called to say he had a flat! So had to recall all the large tyre places in Bristol in the hope he could get some p0's.

When I arrived I had missed the practice sessions and had to go out almost straight away. Track was still wet form the nights rain and punters were few and far between. So after a couple of laps I joined Matt to wash down the cars...yep no sooner had we finished drying them and it rained...and rained...and rained. Had a few slippery sessions with MSP helping us all out but it did not look too good for the day.

Finaly at 2.00 it started to dry up, and then the sun came out and we had a hoot, just like summer only cooler.

Thanks to all who came along and for helping to make the Charity some money...don't know how much and I left at just before 5.00 after racing Simon M round for a few laps...those extra 10 hp in the GS sure make a difference, or was it your lack of brakes? ;o).

Heres some photos of the day.

Nice one Phil, I was up your chuff when you span infield on the corner leading up to the pit straight. Say you passenger, then you, then your passenger again, FAB!

It was brown trousers time to start but as the track dried out, more and more grip was appearing. I left at 4pm, but SimonM text me to say the track was completely dry at 4.30, loads of grip apparently.

Best part of today, when the track was semi dry, after lunch, balancing the tail in the corners on the edge of the grip, made me feel that I was starting to learn it all again.

The only downside, is that I have the track bug again!

Awesome day, going again next year definitely.

104db for the day, one guys F360 was out due to being over 110db. Think Matt and Simon had to close valves to get by.

Tyres held up well to be honest, fronts show hardly any wear, rears lost about 1-2mm but were already just prior to wear indicators so I was not too bothered.

Brakes held up well for me and the disks look better than B4. The rears have no lip to see, the fonts about 1mm 1.5 mm, so maybe another 10k left in them [of normal driving]

No better way to help a charity.

Because if not they will be closed down by the locals Adam....Combe is right next to the village and they have tried to close it many a time.

Due to rich people moving into the country and wanting no noise! Had one of the new locals complaining about the sheep and cows noise last year...you could not make it up!
