Kinell has no one told these track ciicuit operators there's a recession on , cant believe what they are trying to charge , Snettertons new track the 300 circuit is £9200 in april thats the wettest month of the year for crying out loud , in May it goes up to £11K thats everything included , they are sending me a schedule of they way they may to half days or third of a day with 20 min sessions on the hour every hours for the 8 hours , that reduces the cost by 2/3 rds , they said the size of the track allows for 25 cars to be on track at any one times and that would be equiverlant to 6 cars as we have done a Goodwood , what you guys think

Just to hire the track at Dunsfold ( top gear track ) exclusively is £3500 for the day which includes nothing , marshalling / fire crew / medical crew /events organiser are extra still waiting for thier chages to come through im in the wrong business as they all seem to be quite busy

Maybe they should turn thr M25 into a track...may keep road pricing at bay! at 9k per day.

For a different kind of legal high speed buzz, a left field thought could be a trip to the isle of man?
Been a couple of times with the Lotus boys via Steam Packet holidays. Ferry and hotel for 3 or 4 days in the region of £600. We've had briefings from the chief of Police on arrival on both occasions basically letting us know that derestricted means derestricted and that we could go as fast as we like... But that he'd impound our car if we were caught speeding through villages or towns and to take care or we'd be going home in a box.
Massive buzz! I've posted vids on here before of driving over the mountain roads in the Lotus, whilst totally awesome those roads may not be ideal for masers but the TT course definitely would be!
Just a thought.

Would imagine with the 'other' bits it will be over 4k...but still cheaper than the others.

Just goes to show , what extremely good value llandow is , bit of an eye opener , whats driven up the costs by 25% in 2 years , were in recession and the cost of living so we are told is rising only 3% a year , my maths or the governments maths are out of sinq i think

This will test the commitment..............

So how many of us are there really interested in a track day and how fast can everyone get it together?

Goodwood offer an Off Peak rate..........................however this is before mid Feb and after late November....................so the weather could be 3 inches of rain, 4 inches of snow, Ice or Brilliant sunshine..................our risk naturally!

The rate is £3,935 plus vat £4,722.........plus intructors as required so if we get 20 cars this is £236 each or 25 cars a very reasonabl £189 each

The only Saturday is the 5th February and I have asked them to hold it for me.................However this is only three weeks away so it requires immediate commitment from everyone if it is to happen.......decision time this weekend?

Is it feasible? What say you?

A little too early for me Malc , dont think thr GS clutch will last the course , well not how i would want to drive it , need to get it done along with a wheel refurb and a new tyre , 4200 is 100% now, just want a couple of decent sunny sunday drives out of her before i put her up forsale in March so would rather not put it through track stresses, i know what im like

I'm in Malc regardless on where - the only thing that would scupper me is a date I'm booked up but am flexible wknd / weekday...

My preference would be SM / MF only day, but a cheaper alternative could be to simply co-ordinate a majority share of an open trackday... I use this site for track days in the Westie and its the best I've found as it joins up most of the main providers and circuits: http://www.trackdaylist.com
