Final day, excellent night at the casino. The weather is a bit brighter today. Rachel and I are just off for a walk round Honfleur. It's 11am here and still no sign of the new mum and dad as yet despite Paul standing outside their door for 5 mins whistling bird songs!

Ill give a full report tomorrow.

Once again a special thanks to Peter and Sophie for taking much effort and time into organising this event.

Laters...

Best dressed couple...That would be Sophie and I.;0)

Back in the UK and on the m26 now with Sophie driving as I'm knackered...just 3 hours left to Bristol.

Thanks to all who came along, it would not be the same without you...New ideas already in my head for 2011, as long as the wedding does not eat all the ££££.

Lets hope for some sun next time, although Rob and Roz gave Lewis and Sarah a run for the times they had their hood down.

Safe driving to you all, Love Pete and Soph'

just arrived home about 1/2 hour ago. made the mistake of trying the M1 instead of the boring M40. wont do that one again.

What a great weekend!!. great location , great company. so glad to have met you all and shared this with you. Ros is looking forward to the next one,and if it was next weekend that would suit her just fine.
A big thanks to Peter & Sophie for organising this, everything was perfect.

Loz,

Sorry you missed out but what really counts in this context is that you got home safely.

Paul, as a committed ornithologist and a member of the RSPB......I feel duty bound to report this incident ....for an innocent, impressionable pigeon to be exposed to such human excesses...is beyond the pale.....can you supply me with your address, NI number, preferred prison and whether or you're a boxers man or a briefs man?

Sincerely,

P

Pretty sure that pigeon was Japanese , definately one of the Kamakaze variety, pleased to know that all the feathers have now been collected and sewn into new cushions for the garden chairs , which had gone a bit flat , bit like my rear tyre heheh , oh well we can put it down to what goes around comes around sort of Pigeon Kama ,

Pleased that the weekend turned out to be a great success, as you say most importantly we got home with all and the car intact , and a bonus the rim is still in perfect condition

Cheers all for a great weekend! after a lie in we headed into deauville yesterday and found a racecourse but no cars (!), so meandered back. Such a shame you missed it Loz, next time mate... there's a french pigeon with your name on it! Cheers again to Pete and Sophie for organising... my only regret is that I got butchered inside of 10 minutes on the Blackjack table - fortunately Piper dragged me away before the inheritence was lost - oh and I got nicked for speeding on the way into Calais, but not at some of Friday's speeds thanks god!... they won't tell the DVLA WILL THEY!!??? Roll on the xmas do, Matt - see u at Castle Comble mate, ditto Peter!

Well, the tales of woe dont end there Loz, we had a drama of a greater magnitude on the way home, and hence why I have not been around today.

All was going well, and Rachel and I spent the best day ever walking round Honfleur, even the loud brute that was SimonM driving up the narrow streets with his flaps open only made it better.

We made it to the ferry and as we were driving up the ramp, Rachel got a call and one look at here tear streaming face I knew something was very very wrong.

Our youngest, Freya who is 6 had taken a bad fall, and was paralysed from the waist down. The paramedics and ambulances where all at our house and had administered morphine, so you can imagine our anguish.

As a result, she was carted off to hospital, and then after a fraught 30 mins of phone calling, we lost signal due to leaving port, only knowing that Freya was on here way down to xray.

This was one of the worst 3 hrs of my life as Rachel was in one **** of a state and had shut herself away on the lower deck sobbing. The worst part of it was the absolute helplessness situation of what was going on.

In the end we asked the ship that we had to make an emergency call and they managed to patch our mobile through to the satellite.

Thankfully the paralysis was only due to swelling around the spine so thank god for that, but it makes you think. Rachel has said she is not going away and leaving the kids again, which is a real shame as we both enjoyed the France trip immensely.

Freya has now been discharged and is making a fair recovery....poor little lamb.

Bloody h*ll Matt, My heart missed a beat when I read that! That is terrible news; the worst! but thank God Freya is making a recovery. I don't even want to imagine how you both must have been feeling on the ferry, the one place where you are out of contact. All the very best to you all and sincerely hoping for a complete and swift recovery.

Ohhh Matt & Rachel,
thank god Freya is out of hospital and recovering,
can't imagine how bad you felt being so far away and unable to help,
our thought are with you all, and wish Freya makes a full and speedy recovery,
Love, Enzo & Linda.
